Also got Michael Wittmann now!
Protip to everyone DO NOT GET WARLORD TANKS. JTFM and a number of others make a far better product for a lot less.
I have heard a few people say they are all right and warlord do fix up issues but they have so many fucking issues with their vehicles its just not worth it.
JTFM’s product is far superior in every sense and they are the most amazing company. They have backed every tournament we have run in Australia. An when i say backed I mean sent of piles of tanks and other items to be given to the players.
The only downside with JTFM/Die Waffenkammer is how damn busy he is! So there may be a wait on orders.
The casts are absolutely top notch, and what gets put in the miscast pile most companies would still send out.
So much this ^
My miscast M10 has less flaws than the M10 Warlord deemed worth to sell.
Jeff from JTFM/Die Waffenkammer is really great but he is only one man doing it all. That said a number of stores now carry his stock so you can grab them from there too. I know two aussie shops carry them.
Yeah, I’ve been looking at Die Waffenkammer stuff and I love it but if I have to choose between spending $40 (tank + shipping) on a die Waffenkammer Tiger I or $28 (free shipping) for a Warlord one on eBay, then I will always choose Warlord just because I kinda have to do this whole wargaming thing on a budget.
I’ve had issues with poor Warlord models before when I bought an M3 halftrack and some if the casting was just abysmal, but they were very helpful and sent me a whole new model instead of just a few replacement parts so now I have two M3s. Anyway, long story short: if I had the money I’d buy only from die Waffenkammer but I don’t and I think Warlord does just fine.
That is a fair call, even as a stockist I still look at the bottom line and do as much as I can on a small budget!
I can understand that. I build my start armies on a budget for the most part. Been burnt spending too much on systems in the past. I also like supporting my local stores where possible and will drop money there first.
I am lucky in that I have an army I bought cheap, fully painted and with all sorts of goodies. But that was after getting advised I wouldn’t get my replacements in time for my US Cassino force for an event :(
Now I am happy to slowly build an army. I will say I have 5 warlord tanks and 3 of them have required replacement part/hulls and patching some miscasts. Warlord’s range does not have some of the tanks I want for my Desert Rats and IJA. I will of course be chasing up other suppliers to fill that. But then histroical games in general (outside of maybe FoW) are made up of people sourcing models from their favourite/local companies.
Still I will give Warlord props on my chaffee and M5 which seem to be made of a different resin and have been far better quality.
I still have tried the Plastic Soldier company but if they make models as well as their 15mm set I will be using them as the base for my Soviets.
Yeah, I’m actually really stoked about PSC’s new 28mm line (same with Perry Miniatures now doing WW2) and I can’t wait to see either of them do some plastic Heer or SS. More than half my FoW SS-Pz. Company consists of PSC models and I’m very pleased with them. My only concern would be mixing Warlords “heroic” scale with the more realistic scale of PSC and Perry Miniatures.
I have the Perry Desert Rats and they are great. My issues is I now need to get a hold of some weapons teams to go with them. Going off my Japanese i think warlords metal models might be less bulky. But that might just be the IJA models.
The PSC russians have a box for arty, and weapons teams. should just need to add some armour. I hope they do some more 28mm ranges too.
The Perry set has both a light mortar team and a anti-tank rifle team included in the Afrika Korp box. But if yiu use them then your machinegunners don’t get to be deployed.
Fwiw, I’ve picked up a few vehicles from Warlord without issues. Both resin and plastic. I really like the plastics.
My current painting project. Go to my YouTube channel if you want to see the earlier parts of this series.
Space Hulk Broodlord. Part of my own set. I actually do own a few painted minis.
Got some more work done on the latest commission project. The project consists of three minis (well, four if you count the Gnoblar). The slave giant and master are nearing completion. The Tyrant is a good way along.
